Each newborn session is custom to you and your little one using our client closet that includes wraps and accessories for babies and props that match your personal style.

NEWBORN FAQs

HOW LONG IS A NEWBORN SESSION?
A newborn session takes place in the studio in Barrington, Rhode Island and is typically 2-3 hours. This allows lots of time for snuggles, feedings, and to settle your little one into multiple poses and props. Newborn sessions take a lot of experience and patience and knowledge of how to follow a baby's cue's and know when they need a break and when they are done.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO A NEWBORN SESSION?
Unless you are bringing in a special item from your home, the studio is stocked with everything we will need for your newborn session images. The studio also has waters, snacks, waters, and diapers!!

HOW MANY IMAGES DO I GET WITH MY SESSION?
This is up to you! You are not required to pre purchase packages prior to viewing your gallery. We will review your images during your in-person Viewing/Ordering Appointment. At that time you will make your image selection.

DO WE GET DIGITALS?
All purchased printed images include a companion web resolution digital file and a print release! Perfect for sharing on social media and for making birth announcements or thank you cards!

CAN WE DO FAMILY OR SIBLING PHOTOS?
Absolutely! Welcoming a baby is a huge milestone for everyone in your family! Your newborn baby will change in the blink of an eye and you want to capture them exactly as they are when they first come into your lives.

HOW DO I BOOK WHEN I'M PREGNANT? WHAT AGE SHOULD MY BABY BE FOR THEIR SESSION?
We will hold your newborn session on the calendar with your due date. When your baby is born, we will schedule your photo shoot date for when baby is 4-14 days old. Newborns are best photographed under 2 weeks of life. This way baby is still super sleepy and bendy and we can have a wonderful session with lots of variety!

MY BABY IS ALREADY BORN. CAN I STILL BOOK A SESSION?
Yes! While it’s best to book 2+ months in advance, babies are born early or late all the time and that creates gaps in my schedule. If your baby is already here, call me ASAP! More often than not I can accommodate, so get in touch!

IS EDITING INCLUDED?
You may notice a distinct look to all my babies with perfect flawless skin and nice soft backdrops. This is a mix of how I light and shoot and the retouching I do. All sessions include full retouching, including skin retouching and blemish removal. All images are shown in color and select images that we love in black and white, too, will be shown in both.
